The T45 FIA approved roll cage installation featured in these pictures will give this Escort a very rigid platform for a circuit racing application. This one will be using a Speedway Quick Change rear axle and therefore requires a modified rear end to accomodate it.

The rear interior floor has mostly been removed to accomodate the new axle and Satchel link system. This will be paneled back in using aluminium once all of the cage & axle is installed. Note the forward crossmember and rod end fix points.

The cage is tacked into position until all the tubes have been installed. This will then be TIG welded. Note the raised propshaft tunnel to porvide extra clearance in this area.

The above two pictures show the Satchel Link rear end tubes. Positioning of these is critical and must be accurate to ensure that the car handles as it should.

The rear quarter panel skins have been removed to make way for bigger fiberglass wheel arches.

The rear quarter panels are now fitted along with the aluminium wheel tubs.
