This mean ol' Camaro is going to create a storm in 2009. The car came in for some chassis modifications to make it legal to run in the 7.5 second bracket - however, the chassis needed quite a bit of work to bring it up to spec. The trans mount was completely in the wrong place, the cage had also been built from tubing which was mostly undersize or the wrong thickness, so we had our work cut out for us.

The front end geometry was suffering so badly from bump steer that it would have been unsafe to drive at any speed and the strut design was causing problems with the scrub radius.

The work is now completed and a nice new set of Strange Engineering struts, brakes (front & rear ) have been fitted. You can see in this picture where the rack had to go - before this work was undertaken - the rack was mounted above the frame rails - Bump Steer Heaven!
The car is currently away for painting and due to come in for tinwork soon.
Meanwhile, check out the new powerplant ... a 14-71 blown methanol 540ci Chevrolet engine is currently being prepared in the engine building department. The customer's previous ride was an Astra - this is surely taking mild to wild a bit too far!?
